Welcome to Global Village Travel, Balmain’s favourite locally owned and operated travel agency for more than 30 years. My name is Heidi, the heart and soul behind the company and I am dedicated to delivering not only an itinerary that leaves you with great memories but unforgettable travel experiences that stay with you for a lifetime. I am incredibly passionate about travel, the experiences it can give you, the lessons it teaches you and how transformative it can be for a person. Travel has always been a huge part of my life, since 1972 I have worked and grown up in the travel industry, it’s safe to say that travel is in my blood.
My professional experience extends beyond consulting as a travel agent, which I have been loving for more than 30 years now, I have also worked for various wholesalers, airlines and lectured a travel course at TAFE NSW. Thanks not only to my professional years in service but also my extensive personal travels, I have a unique set of skills and knowledge base that I absolutely love using to organise and deliver bespoke experiences to suit the individual travel needs and goals of each client.
Having travelled extensively in Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, as well as visiting the USA, Canada, Botswana and cruised the Danube and Mexican Riviera, my favourite destinations to create itineraries and our Global Village Travel small group tours around are Europe, Botswana and South America. When travelling I make the effort to try various types of accommodations and always prioritise including a ‘highlight’ stay. Some of which have included Pousada’s in Portugal, Paradores in Spain, Chateau’s in France, Villas in Italy and many more. My personal favourite travel destination is Canal Du Midi, in the south of France near Carcassonne, because we have a couple of houses here.
